Cedar plank grilling has it’s home in the Northwest United States, and the Western Red Cedar’s wood has been used for this purpose for hundreds of years. These organic cedar wood planks are as true to the tradition as it is possible to be.
Cedar Plank Grilling
The wood can be used for grilling or baking meat or vegetables. The wood’s essential oils impart a smoky and spicy flavor to the food. Cedar is a particularly good choice when grilling salmon. These planks are big enough for a full salmon or several smaller pieces. They are some of the widest and longest planks available at 7” wide and 15” long.
Plank Thickness
While most of our competitors offer planks that are only 1/5 of an inch think, leading to burned and over cooked food, our planks are thicker. With a thickness of 3/8 of an inch, these planks make it easier to grill perfectly prepared food.
Cedar Type Matters
Don’t be fooled by the white cedar and eastern cedar planks sold by our competitors. These woods are less aromatic and do not create the full, smoky flavor that is characteristic of cedar plank grilling. Our Western Red Cedar is the most aromatic, and will add a delicious flavor to your food.
Environmentally Friendly Cedar Grilling Planks
We strive to remain environmentally sustainable while offering the best product possible to our customers. Our factory is right in the middle of the Red Cedar Forest from which the wood is harvested, reducing our carbon footprint and waste. Our planks are proudly made in the United States by American workers.
